The 2021 BMW i4 is a fully electric four-door fastback-style coat being developed by German carmaker BMW. The 2021 BMW i4 is expected to compete against the Tesla Model 3 and other mid-size EV sedans. BMW recently unveiled the i4 Concept, which is a very good indicator of what it can expect when the latest version of the BMW i4 is produced in 2021. The sleek sedan is expected by BMW to produce a range of 270 kilometers and 530 horsepower. BMW 2021 i4 will accelerate to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds and reach a speed of 124 mph.
BMW has taken a newer approach to deal with the tremendous silence that EVs are familiar with. The automaker collaborated with film composer Hans Zimmer to create a variety of sound experiences that occupants can choose from. It’s unlikely to get the ruthless cellos from The Dark Knight, but it could be expected.
2021 BMW i4 Interior
Inside, the interior style can be suggestive enough to be forgotten on the grille, with a simple design dominated by a large curved screen. The cab itself is still around the driver, which leads us to believe that the i4 will abandon automated driving technology in the immediate future.
There is a noticeable lack of physical buttons, however, which has had mixed reactions in terms of real-world usability. The BMW i4 Concept’s cabin has a rich look and features rose gold, white leather upholstery, and light wood. We know that the car will share its basics with the BMW 3 Series coat, so the interior will be very spacious.
The roofline of the BMW i4 2021 is more dramatic than the 3, however, it offers a four-door coupe body style and a large rear lift, revealing a wide cargo area like the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe. The current BMW offers Apple CarPlay capability, Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless phone charging, and audio system upgrades, so you can bet that the 2021 i4 will inherit these automotive features.
BMW i4 Engine
The 2021 i4 will provide electrons to an electric motor that is expected to have 530 horsepower. BMW said the coat battery will be approximately 80.0 kWh. The company also says the four-door electric will accelerate to zero and 62 mph in four seconds. The EPA has yet to release calculations on the i4’s fuel economy or driving range, so BMW only needs to make a 372-mile claim. Once we get to test an i4 at our office, we’ll put together a 200-mile fuel economy route to determine the real-world driving area.
2021 BMW i4 Safety
The 2021 BMW i4 has not been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It’s a safe bet that the 2021 BMW i4 will also have a wonderful set of standard and available security features. It’s likely to redirect to a collision alert, a blind spot detection system, and things like front and rear park support.
