The 2020 Toyota Sequoia is a full-size three-row SUV with five trim levels. The Chevrolet Tahoe is a bigger SUV than the Toyota Sequoia. Toyota offers more cargo and a larger third row, but it’s at the Tahoe level basically in all other areas. It’s more modern and stylish, has an easier-to-use infotainment system, and gets better gas mileage. Tahoe handles angles better and offers a V8 that is more powerful than Sequoia’s engine.
The 2020 Sequoia SR5 base features 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, solar panel, three-zone automatic climate control, power driver’s seat, second-row bench seat, 60/40 split third-row bench, and folding, 7-inch touchscreen Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and eight-speaker audio system. Safety features include automatic aircraft brake warning, adaptive crossover control, road exit warning, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, blind-spot tracking, and rear traffic alert.
2020 Toyota Sequoia Interior
Toyota Sequoia has one of the most spectacular interiors in the class. From the old-fashioned style to the plethora of hard plastics, this Toyota isn’t as nice as most other big SUVs. The base model is a fabric upholstery and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. Leather upholstery, heated front seats, ventilated front seats, heated second-row captain’s seats, a 10-way power-adjusting driver’s seat, six-way power-adjusting passenger seats, and third-row seats are available. There are three sets of connectors for installing Sequoia car seats.
The standard features include the Moon and Entune infotainment system with a 7-inch touch screen, an eight-speaker audio system, satellite radio, three USB ports, Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Wi-Fi hotspot. Available features include a 12-speaker audio system, a 14-speaker JBL audio system, a rear-seat Blu-ray entertainment system, and navigation. Perhaps the most notable change from the 2020 Sequoia finally comes with standard features that support helpful connectivity like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are still some drawbacks to Toyota’s infotainment technology. The Entune system remains a bit outdated and a lot of control is a long seat from the driver’s seat.
2020 Toyota Sequoia Engine
The 2020 Sequoia comes with a 381 horsepower V8 engine that has never been taxed more heavily on this SUV. The engine has enough power to move this Toyota fairly easily, even while crossing the highway or climbing hills. The six-speed transmission is automatically smooth. Large SUVs don’t usually get good gas miles, but by class standards, Sequoia’s ratings are bad. It only gets 13 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway. Sequoia is fine when you want to head off the road, especially if you choose a TRD trunk. They have additional features, such as large shakes, to help you cross challenging lands. When properly equipped, the Sequoia can weigh up to 7,400 pounds. While there is plenty to get out of the trailer or small boat, it is still lower than the maximum score of other large SUVs.
2020 Toyota Sequoia Safety
The standard driver assistance features a rear camera, blind tracking, lane change support, front and rear parking sensors, rear traffic alert, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and adaptive cross control. Some of them are in the Toyota Safety Sense P technology set. There is no significant active security. The 2020 Toyota Sequoia has yet to be fully tested, but it received four stars in the National Highway Traffic Security Security rollover test.
