The Alfa Romeo MiTo is a luxury city officially introduced three doors June 19, 2008, in the Castello Sforzesco in Milan, with an international introduction at the British Motor Show in 2008. The car was available in major markets at different stages of Alfa July. The three-door hatchback is front-wheel drive and will be sold to compete with the MINI and the new Audi A1.Designed by the Centro Stile Alfa Romeo, it is believed that the design is inspired by the 8C Competizione. The MiTo is built on the platform used on Fiat Small Fiat Grande Punto, also employed by the D. Opel Vauxhall Corsa.The car has a new “Alfa DNA” that allows the driver to choose between three different driving settings: Dynamic, Normal and All Weather. This system controls the behavior of engine, brakes, steering, suspension and gearbox. The MiTo also features LED taillights and 250 liters of luggage space. The MiTo also features a Q2 electronic differential on the front wheels, which is activated by the position of the DNA switch dynamic, and allows to accelerate in the corners and stronger without losing traction.
Alfa Romeo Mito GTA Concept
The Alfa Romeo GTA (Gran Turismo Alleggerita), the sports version of the MiTo was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2009 as a prototype. The concept has a 1.75-liter turbo engine with direct injection and variable valve timing for intake and exhaust. The choice of engine size is important because the 1750 line 4-cylinder DOHC engine was the largest available in the Alfa Romeo for many years and it would be interesting to Alfisti. Maximum power is estimated at 240 hp.
The MiTo GTA Concept has a top speed of 250 mph and acceleration from zero to 100 mph in 5 seconds. GTA weight has been reduced by the use of carbon fiber for the rear spoiler and roof and mirror fairings. Aluminum is also used to reduce weight. The suspension is lowered by 20 millimeters over the standard car, and the car has an active suspension.
Alfa Romeo MiTo engines
At the launch of the MiTo will feature low cylinder turbo petrol and diesel.
